Please remember that this is an Orthodox Church, and that services are for the glory and worship of God. While visiting or participating in the services, kindly show respect for the religious beliefs and customs of our faith. The behaviors listed below are things to be mindful of to help others from being distracted during worship:
· Women and men are to stand on opposite sides of the temple, women on the left, and men on the right. Please use the benches as needed, especially for the elderly, pregnant, or sick. Couples are asked to refrain from physical displays of affection during the services.
· Please have your cellphone on silent or vibrate mode.
· Please refrain from talking or laughing during the services.
· If children are being loud, rambunctious (running around) or are screaming, please redirect them to the dining hall area or downstairs. Keep in mind that children using the downstairs area must be closely supervised by their parents, otherwise they are to remain in the dining hall area.
Both men and women are to dress modestly.
Please remove any visible facial jewelry, and ensure that clothing is covering any visible tattoos.
Women are kindly asked to wear a head covering, and skirts or dresses below the knee. There are skirts and head coverings available to borrow for services on the coat rack. Low cut necklines, skirts or dresses with deep slits, open back, see through clothing, or yoga pants are inappropriate to wear into the temple. Please refrain from wearing lipstick when venerating icons and/or receiving Holy Communion.
Men are asked kindly to avoid wearing T-Shirts, shorts, and hats.
